Creatives: much like gardeners- plant and nourish seeds so beautiful flowers can bloom for the world to grab hold of in enjoyment.

This portfolio is my garden.

Bio

Ericka Jeanvil, a Howard University graduate, transcends boundaries with her versatile creative prowess. Renowned for her ability to excel in any medium—from film and theater to print, digital, and live production—her portfolio showcases her dynamic contributions to off-Broadway productions, marketing campaigns, and short films as a director, actress, marketing strategist, set and costume designer.

My approach

I have always been a woman to exist within the details. So, I approach my work through a very analytical lens and with the motto that each element (set, acting, costume, lighting) should be able to tell the same story on its own. I am able to accomplish this by honing in on the truth that we want the work to tell, and being critical and intentional with each choice I am responsible for making. I look forward to working with thought-provoking, innovative, and talented creatives who shares this appreciation for all elements of production.

The garment.

Beyoncé’s “Church Girl” felt deeply personal to me, especially the phrase, “I was born free.” These four words inspired my look for the Renaissance World Tour. I deliberately chose to recreate an iconic look worn by dark-skinned supermodel Naomi Campbell from Fall/Winter 1991. It was integral that my look paid homage to one of the few super models that looked like me, and reflected the period of my birth. I'm proud to present my replica of this memorable piece from Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 1991 RTW collection.

The SEt.

The outcome.
